I imagine us on a paper boat under the raining sky,
Where I can show you the saddest parts of me.
The rain takes off our shadows and
Takes us back to the days when
You’d stop the sunshine reaching my face.
Under the quiet stars, I whisper your name,
As if it was the only word known to me.
I see you, now.
You look old.
Like the yellow pages of an old book
Which we still like, but less.
Over the last letters that bore the stains
Of the ink smudged by tears.
Today, on this paper boat
I can love you again.
Without the fear of gulping my own tears.
Today, I can love you again.
Without having you.
Without seeing you die.
