A mirage along scorching deserts
is an illusion that makes the faint heart flutter.
Amid the spiralling web of sand,
it is a paradise drowned in deception,
the fondest part of a wearisome journey,
rich with the promise of eternity.
I find it most intriguing
to make castles in the air
and escape the humdrum
of a gruesome reality.
For each time I travel through the blinding dunes,
I hear the hum of a distant tune
that threaten to imprison me
in a grave of sand
where no one can know my burial ground
I prefer living through a fantasy
to a life marred by obscurity.
