Courting disaster for months,
But find it almost tolerable,
As long as I remain steady,
Taking hold of any wheel
Available at the moment.
I give it a mighty spin,
Hanging on precipitously;
The best I can do.
Motion intoxicates me,
Provides reason to be—
Satisfies a primal urge,
Whirling here and there,
Until I drift towards sleep,
When the next whim arrives
To have its way with me.
Yes, I’m one revolution
Shy of another catastrophe,
Waiting around the bend.
Yet I revel in each turn,
Every twist keeping me
Safe from harm.
